Shooting

NCC offers cadets a chance to experience first hand how to operate a SAR-21. This comes in the form of trainfires, where cadets are thought about the basic mechanics of the weapon and how to disassemble and assemble it. After cadets pass the technical handling test and are capable of handling the SAR-21 they are then given the chance to participate in an "Arcade" like firing simulation called the individual marksmenship training. This allows them to simulate a firing experience, it is almost like a video game. Those that achieve the standard of marksmen in these tests will be able to go for the live firing range when they are cadet leaders(sec 3). There are also annual shooting competitions held every year between units.
Overall the experience is a unique and fun, enriching one. No other cca will give you the chance to operate a SAR-21 rifle and let alone fire it before NS. This is why NCC is the premier uniform group in Singapore.
